The company drills and equips boreholes, treats water and installs power.
Three lines of work
The three lines of work are one job. Drilling serves two purposes. Boreholes are drilled for supply to households, farms, institutions and schemes, and other holes are drilled in support of mining work. Treatment turns an abstracted source into water fit for its use, and reticulation delivers it to the point of use at pressure. The infrastructure page covers the sewer and civil works that run alongside. Solar and backup power are installed for rural pumps and for mining and construction sites.
Mashudu Shandukani, a director of this company and a geologist, founded Mshandukani Holdings. That separate South African civil construction, geological services and property development company has two offices and a workshop in Centurion, and it owns and operates its own diamond core and percussion drill rigs. Those rigs belong to it rather than to Dube & Shandukani Ventures.
From survey to handover
- Hydrogeological survey, because where a hole is drilled decides whether it finds water.
- Permitting, since groundwater abstraction is regulated.
- Drilling to the depth the survey indicates.
- Casing, development and yield testing, establishing what the hole will deliver sustainably.
- Equipping with a pump, a rising main, a tank and power.
- Water quality testing, which proves the water is fit to use.
- Handover and maintenance.
What a partner brings
A partner puts rigs to work, or keeps the company’s rigs busy. This division offers a partner the utilisation of an equipment business with a long payback, and a share of what it earns. Drilling earns on the days the rig turns.

Ground, figures and counterparties go to a partner under the non-disclosure agreement.
