The company builds the services that sit under a development and the structures that sit on it.
Five lines of work
Five lines of work run today.
- Roads, earthworks and site works: earthworks, roads, drainage, hardstanding and the associated structures.
- Building and civil construction: structures built to an approved design.
- Water reticulation: storage, distribution and supply at pressure.
- Sanitation and sewer works: collection, treatment and disposal.
- Real estate development: ground is acquired and surveyed, the services above are installed, and the result is land that can be built on and transferred.
Borehole drilling and equipping runs alongside all of them, and the water and energy page describes it. Where a design is required, an engineer registered with the Engineering Council of Zimbabwe and engaged for that project prepares and signs it. The registration belongs to that engineer, and the company describes its own work as construction.
The order of the work
The order of the work is what keeps it cheap.
- Survey and layout fix where everything goes, before anything is dug.
- Bulk earthworks and roads go in first, because everything else is delivered along them.
- Wet services, water and sewer, are laid before surfacing.
- Storm water is shaped alongside the roads it protects.
- Surfacing and finishing.
- Handover to the local authority, which is what makes services adoptable.
Each system is sized for the finished development rather than the current phase.
Work for your plant
Your plant and crews go straight onto a programme. This division offers work waiting for machines. Civil works are an equipment business, and the constraint is rarely the contract. The constraint is having the machines and the people free at the moment the programme needs them.
Ground, figures and counterparties go to a partner under the non-disclosure agreement.
